Use Case: An easy appetizer that adds a unique, smoky flavor to your favorite olives.
Description: Add a delightful smoky twist to your appetizer spread with Smoked Olives. This quick and simple recipe is perfect for entertaining guests or enhancing your favorite salads and dishes with a rich, smoky flavor.
Ingredients:
● 2 cups mixed olives (green, black, Kalamata)
● 2 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
● 2 tbsp olive oil
● 1 tsp fresh rosemary, chopped
● 1 tsp fresh thyme, chopped
● Zest of 1 lemon
● Wood chips (oak or hickory work well)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Olives: In a mixing bowl, combine the olives, garlic, olive oil, rosemary, thyme, and lemon zest. Toss until the olives are evenly coated with the seasoning.
2. Add Smoke: Using your Bon Apperoo™ culinary smoker, add the desired wood chips (oak or hickory work well) and follow the instructions to infuse the olives with smoke for about 5 minutes. Ensure the smoke fully envelops the olives for maximum flavor.
3. Serve Immediately: Enjoy the Smoked Olives shortly after smoking for the best flavor. They can be served on their own as an appetizer or added to salads and other dishes for a smoky touch.
Pro Tip: For an extra burst of flavor, try adding a splash of balsamic vinegar to the olives before smoking.
